COMPETITION RULES
FIGHT FIRST MMA (FF-MMA)

Duration Round:. Novice fight card: 3 x 5-minute rounds. Championship / Professional fight card: 3x five-minute rounds.

Allows (Physical): Stomps, soccer kicks, (except knees to the head of a grounded opponent), elbow strikes, except ones starting from the twelve o'clock position and striking down to the six o'clock position.
Prohibits (Physical): Any butting with the head, eye gouging, biting of any kind, hair pulling, fish hooking, groin attacks of any kind, putting a finger into any orifice or into any cut or laceration on an opponent, any small joint manipulation, spiking a fighter on the head during takedown or slam, throat strikes of any kind, including, without limitation, grabbing the trachea, throwing an opponent out of the ring, timidity, including, without limitation, avoiding contact with an opponent, intentionally or consistently dropping the mouthpiece or faking an injury, attacking an opponent on or during the break, o or whilst the an opponent is under the care of the referee.
Prohibits (Clothing:. Shoes, shirts and joggers. Only boxing-styled shorts (or trunks) + padded MMA gloves are allowed.
Ways To Win: Submission by: Physical tap out, verbal tap out, technical knockout (by the referee stopping the contest). Decision by: scorecards, including unanimous decision, split decision, majority decision. Draw by: unanimous draw, majority draw or split draw. Disqualification by: committing prohibited moves, (see above) or receiving three warnings. Forfeit by: throwing in the towel, failure to compete.
Warnings:A warning will be issued by the referee to a fighter who FAILS TO FIGHT, including any form of stalling, failure to initiate any offensive attack, making no attempt to finalize the match or damage the opponent, including holding the opponent's body with the arms and legs to produce a stalemate. Should a fighter receive three warnings for FAILING TO FIGHT the fighter will be DISQUALIFIED and victory will be awarded to his opponent.

A warning will be issued by the referee to a fighter who purposely holds the ropes. Fighters cannot purposely hang an arm or leg on the ropes. Hanging on the ropes will result in an immediate warning. Three warnings means the fighter is DISQUALIFIED and victory will be awarded to his opponent.

Weight classes: Heavyweight (no limit), Middleweight (<92 kg), Lightweight (<73 kg).
Age Restrictions: Fight First MMA will not enter any fighter below the age of 18 years old.
Experience Restrictions:Novice fighters must have at least 6 months training in MMA and have attained a reasonable standard in any martial arts discipline.
