Interview:

FF: Apart from Smackgirl (Japan) there are very few female MMA promotions. What barriers do you think face women's MMA fighting?

CHUCK: "It took a long time for the US to accept they way we (men) fight in MMA. Now that MMA has been accepted, I don't think it will take as long as it did for us men, but I do think it will take some time before Female MMA is accepted."

FF: Would you date a woman who could place you in an armbar?

CHUCK: "Sure of course I would, I like tough women"

FF: The tattoo you have on your right arm, "THE PIT KEMPO", what does it mean?

CHUCK: "Yeah, that's our gym tattoo, the guys that fight at our gym have it."

FF: You own and operate San Luis Obispo (SLO) kickboxing school, with Scott Adams.
Is their a strict membership criteria for your school, or is it available to anyone who wants to train in Kickboxing?

CHUCK: "Anyone can join and train there; we do our training at the gym before it opens and after it closes."

FF: Is there a big crowd/fan club that surrounds the gym when you are trying to train?

CHUCK: "No, not really, most people are used to seeing me there…I don't have any problems."
